And happiness is a runway under the wheels!
Plane is parked and we are on our way.
Very long walk to the terminal but glad to be here.
But true happiness is that all the bags and bikes arrived.
Bike boxes are not crushed, speared, or damaged.
Our brand new Peugeot Rifter.
This is our third time renting a mini-van from Peugeot Open Europe. Although Peugeot no longer sells cars in the U.S. they have kept this program alive for decades. If you need a car for 21 days or more they actually sell you the car and repurchase it at the end of your stay. The only money that changes hands is the daily rate (difference between purchase and re-purchase price) of about $42 per day. The vehicle had less than 5 KM right out of the factory. What a deal.
Only glitch is that the tank is almost empty with only 23 KM of fuel on board. So first order of business is finding an open gas station. Our first try was a bust so we barely made it to the next one on fumes. Running out of gas would have been a bummer. Next is getting the correct fuel - although it uses diesel the pump calls this "gas-a-something". Yellow is the key to the right fuel.
Topped off and on our way to Dizy (~ 150 KM).
After unloading the baggage at our first AIRBNB it was off to the E.Leclerc market for food, drinks, and stuff. This massive store (like Super Walmart) offers too many choices of everything. A full aisle of Yogurt is way more than necessary. Vive L' France!
A well deserved snack after 24+ hours of traveling.
